The Parastro Philosophy

Planets do not control you.
They influence you.

Vedic astrology, or Hora Shastra, is a Shastra, not a science. A Shastra is a guiding principle, a Sasana, a directive handed down by someone you consider trustworthy. Like a father telling his child to wake at six.

“Does the clock showing 1 PM make you hungry?”

Of course not. But over time, the sight of 1 PM begins to trigger hunger, because hunger has so often arrived at that hour. The clock is a reference, not a cause. So is a graha.

Grahas are not planets

A graha is a grasper, a symbolic reference for a pattern observed across countless lives.

In algebra, x = 5. In code, int i = 0. In Jyotisha, the bright planet Shukra stands for love and union. The symbol does not cause the pattern. It names it, so a quiet mind can read it.

The Sun is a Graha. The Earth is not. Earth has no role in your daily cycle as a reference, because you stand on it.

Three things matter in Sasana

For wisdom to land, three things must align.

01
Who told you
the authority behind the knowledge
02
What was told
the purity of the instruction
03
To whom it was told
the readiness of the receiver

“This is the essence of Parastro, the astrology of Parashara. It is not just about planets and charts; it is a beautifully crafted framework for life itself, a divine Sasana from Sage Parashara.”

— from the Parasara Manifesto · Sajith Amma

The Lineage

From ten million lives, in one mind.

This framework was not invented. It was distilled, over generations, from the life-charts of more than ten million people, watched and recorded by Maharshi Bhrigu. His student Maharshi Parasara then codified the work into the Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, the foundational text of Jyotisha. Parasara is the father of Veda Vyasa, who later composed the Mahabharata.

Parastro reads with you in that same calm tradition. A framework, a lens. Never a prophecy.
